The Alan Hodgkinson Medal honors gemologists whose generosity, volunteer service, and shared knowledge strengthen the global gemological community. Inspired by Alan Hodgkinson’s legacy, it recognizes unselfish contributions and lasting impact over position or recognition.

AGA accepts nominations for the Medal throughout the year, but the deadline for each year’s nominations is May 19th. All nominations received after 11:59 pm (Pacific time) on May 19th will be counted toward the following year’s nominations.

The public announcement is made on July 1st. The award is formally presented at the Gala Dinner-Dance following the AGA Tucson Conference at the beginning of the following year
