Professional Experience

I began my career in the jewelry business in 1970, working in retail, then segued into working for a Norwegian Master Goldsmith in a shop, designing and making and appraising jewelry. In 1983 I began my own company offering jewelry appraisals to the trade and private clients.

Specialized Training

In 1986 I obtained my Graduate Gemologist credentials as well as my Senior Member credentials with the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) and the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA). In 1990 I obtained my Master Gemologist Appraiser credential from the American Society of Appraisers. I received my Certified Senior Member designation from the NAJA in 2005, and my Fellow of the Gemmological Association (FGA) from Gem-A in 2018.

Industry Memberships

I am a member of GEM-A, a lifetime GIA Alumni member, a member of the Accredited Gemologists Association, a member of the American Society of Appraisers, and a member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers. I am also a member of the Scottish Gemmological Association.

Industry Contributions

I served for 5 years as the NAJA representative to the Appraisal Foundation’s Industry Advisory Council (IAC), as well as the National Secretary of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers. I was a member of the Board of Governors of the ASA and am currently serving on several committees for the ASA. I am currently on the Board of Governors of the Accredited Gemologists Association.
