Claire Scragg, FGA

Claire's experience in the gem and jewellery began some 28 years ago when she entered the UK retail jewellery trade as a junior sales associate. Over the years Claire's passion for gemstones, minerals grew and in 2004 Claire became a gemology instructor for the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A) whose headquarters are in London's jewellery district of Hatton Garden. In 2017 Claire joined the team at JTV (Jewellery Television) as learning and development manager, and continues as a distance learning instructor for Gem-A.

Claire has taught gemological lab classes and seminars at trade events and conferences around the world for renowned industry organisations such as AGTA (American Gem Trade Association) AGS (American Gem Society), AGA (Accredited Gemologist Association) and has recently written articles for Lithographie, Gemworld International, and UK trade publications including Gem and Jewellery News, Retail Jeweller and Jewellery Focus. Claire's international travels have also taken her to visit the gemstone mines of East Africa, Brazil, Madagascar and Sri Lanka.

Claire's remains dedicated to and passionate about the continued development and sharing of gemologcial knowledge.
